iMac Attack

Well, I finally broke down and bought an iMac the other day. Of course, being the dumbass that I am, I promptly attempted to install OS X (even though it came preinstalled…hell, I didn’t know).

Anyways, I managed to hose my entire installation and have spent the past 36 hours learning more than I probably ever wanted to know about the various intricacies of installing Macintosh’s “modern operating system”. Yeah, it’s so modern I had to remove a RAM card in order to install it…but that’s another story.

Anyways, once OS X actually installs without error and starts working, it’s pretty damn amazing. And slow–my iMac is 500MHZ/320MB RAM/20GB and it’s slower than hell, especially with Netscape 6.2 (and IE 5.1 ain’t all that great either).

Oh well, chalk one up to “learning experiences”…
