FPV

This is an example of what’s know as “FPV”, or “First Person Video.” Basically, a miniature wireless video camera is installed on a model airplane, and you fly the plane while looking through either virtual reality goggles or else a monitor… the results are pretty amazing!!

Weaselfest

Another shot from this year’s Weaselfest (day one at Ellwood). It’s almost hard to believe that these have been happening for seven years now. So much fun and such great people. Can’t wait for next year!

Weaselfest 2010

It’s April and that means one thing: Weaselfest! This year is the 7th annual event. The wind was pretty light but very flyable for a Weasel, and much fun was had. Jose Luis is really into it, which of course is music to my ears. We’re headed back tomorrow for day 2!

Awesome e-powered recumbent using R/C motor & components

Well this one is right up my alley… someone built an electric-assisted recumbent bicycle using a R/C aircraft motor and components to make it happen. Very cool! Talk about two loves coming together Source

R/C Rock Crawling at the South Pole

Now *this* is pretty cool! A guy stationed at the South Pole, Antarctica brought along an R/C rock crawler for fun and amusement in his off hours. He ended up driving it in a 2 mile “around the world” race held on Christmas Day. Pretty cool!
